当孩子做了错事或者考试失败的时候，家长往往很生气，总会去批评孩子。由于在气头上，什么话能解气，总会多多少少去发泄自己的不满，能刺激孩子，就说什么话，并且是地针对孩子本身的批评。比如：“你就是没毅力”，“你真是笨死了”，“你就是懒鬼”，“你永远没有出息等。

家长这种破坏性的批评，对孩子的自我价值伤害很大。好习惯夏令营认为它会让孩子泄气，瞧不起自己，并产生抵触情绪。因此，每位家长对此一定要注意起来才可以。你教育孩子时候如果是任性，那么不久你就会偿到自己制造的苦果。当孩子做错事或考试失败时，家长的正确做法是只对事而不对人。

北师大豆豆妈妈夏令营指出批评孩子时，只针对孩子的行为而不针对孩子本人。也就是说，家长必须让孩子知道哪些行为是错误的，哪些事情做得不对，但并不会因此就导致家长认为孩子不好，家长不会因此就看不起孩子，也不会影响对孩子的爱。这样孩子才会有勇气克服缺点，改正错误，努力向好的方面发展。
