years have gone by, but this kind of memory is still fresh as it happened just yesterday.

when i was in grade four, primary school, our headteacher demanded that all students should have a dictionary. on hearing this news, i thought my opportunity was coming, fortune was knocking at my door. i decided to sell dictionaries to my classmates in order to make extra pocket money. so i rode to a book store where i bought ten books 35% off and then sold them to my classmates 15% off. in this way, i earned approximately twenty yuan with which i could buy myself a brandnew dictionay.

things seemed to go smoothly. however there was one thing out of my control. i walked out of the book store, only to find out that my bicycle which was parked beside the door of the shop vanished into thin air. the money i earned could not make up for the loss of my bicycle. i was very frustrating and went home on foot sadly.

to my surprise, instead of blaming for my carelessness, my parents said nothing about the stolen bicycle. they even bought me a new one as a reward for my first attempt.

years have gone by, the pages of the dictionary have turn yellow, the new bicycle has already been worn out, but the memory won’t fade. it’s an unforgettable experience which i will cherish all my life.
