the second “f” represents friend.i can't understand why robinson was very excited to meet friday for the first time in a deadly dangerous situation. his reaction was even more impetuous than he saw a ship via the desert island which could take him home. this question confused me a lot untill i saw a movie cast a way which was also a story about life on a desert island. in the movie, what impressed me most was the friendship between dramatis personae chuck and a volleyball.yeah, the person developed an unuasual friendship with a ball he called wilson. chuck treated the ball as his best friend. he would talk ,sing, even dance with the ball. sometimes they would argue with each other. when chuck got angry with wilson, he usually threw the ball far away.but after a short time,he would genuinely regret. it wouldn’t matter if it was midnight with a heavy rain outside, chuck would immediately set out to hunt for wilson until he found him. he would even say sorry to the ball again and again, hoping wilson could figive him for his rudeness. each time when i saw chuck knelt besides the ball, repeating "sorry", i can't help but cry. in the tears, i suddenly understand robinson's reaction. perhaps loneliness is the biggest problem and that the most difficult challenge about life on a desert island is how to survive without friends. on a desert island where's no anybody else besides you, you have no friends to share happiness and sorrow or to offer help ,support and encouragement. how horrible it is! i think robinson lived lonely for such a long time, inside of his heart must be full of bitter loneliness and fear. this may be the reason why hearing friday thanked him speaking a language which he could not understand at all, robinson was still too cordial to say anything. the following days, because of friday who could keep company with robinson, life on the desert island seemed to be easier and more pleasant. robinson and friday had developed a firm friendship with each other despite different colours of skin, countries and ages. thanks to robinson and friday, i have a deeper knowledge of friendship and friends. friends are the greatest gifts that we will ever receive. we should care more about our friends and treasure the friendship by means of words and deeds. only in this way, can we develop real friendship and keep the sacred lamp of friendship burning all our life.
