hi there! there are a lot of times in our life that we may face some difficulties, today ella would like to share with you her opinions of the importance of attitude.
i think that most of you share the same feeling as i do: we have taller buildings but shorter tempers; we have bigger houses but smaller families; we have more conveniences but less time; we plan more but accomplish less; we learned how to make a living instead of a live…
this is certainly not something funny, but something in reality, something deserves us to think over and over again:what have we lost during the process of pursuing the so-called “happiness”, and what is happiness anyway?
it is often too easy and often too simplistic to define happiness as something external, something objective something dealing with money fame or reputation. but what i believe happiness is is the realization of one’s goals, justifying ideals and the most important: having a positive attitude towards life.
this reminds me of a very famous american bicyclist----lance armstrong. you’ve probably know that he was once caught in a cancer, after one year’s treatment he recovered and won the champion for 7 times ever since. but do you know the change he made from a patient to a champion not physically but psychologically? like every patient who recovers rom a terrible disease, armstrong has a sense of survivorship which means that he feeling so grateful to survive that he has no other desires. so he went to bars to drink beers, went skiing and totally violated the diet given by his coach. he had gone through a period of “depressing time”. later on, it is with the help of his coach that he realized he should no longer ride his bike to make a living, he just want to live because he can ride. so, with the life he had found back, he overcame the difficulties and achieved one miracle after another.
so it is with us. no matter who we are, where we go, what we do. there should always be a goal in our heart, a goal that deserves us to pursue and fight for. at last, i would like to end p my speech with a sentence: we all live once, but if we work it right, once is enough!
