i love watching movies and learning english. watching movies is absolutely a great way to learn english for me.  if you want to improve your english from watching movies, this is what i would like to share the following: 我是个狂热的电影爱好者和英语学习者。除了在国外学习工作的经历对我英语的提升有帮助外，电影英语学习法也绝对功不可没。这个方法工具简单（一台电脑即可），效果显著。以下和大家分享我的这个宝典：

1)      you should get some movies you really think you could like and get into, and don’t forget to make sure they have the english and chinese subtitles.

要做的第一件事当然是选择自己感兴趣的英语电影，当然，最重要的一点是需要有中英文字幕，而且最好是可以自由切换字幕的。

2)      the first time you watch the movie; you should take it all in and enjoy every moment in it.

第一遍看电影时，就全身心的享受影片吧，绝不放过其中的每个细节。

3)      the second time you watch it is called intensive watching.  i call it this because now that you know what is going to happen, you can pay more attention to the dialog, phrases, words, and screens to understand everything that is happening from both aspects of english and chinese.  in doing so you can also now pause the movie where you need and take notes and comments on the movie piece by piece without ruining the film because you already have finished it once.

我把第二遍看这部电影称为intensive watching，即精看，就像英语专业大学生的精读课一样，需要我们一字一句的研究。此时我们已经知道电影中所有的情节，就该把心思放在字幕上了，即电影中的对话，短语，词句。在又一遍欣赏电影的同时你完全可以在任何不懂的时候按暂停，并做相应的笔记。

4)      next, you should use the internet, or a dictionary to match and cross check your notes and comments to better grasp the knowledge of what you are trying to learn.

接下来，你可以通过网络，字典等搜索查阅，搞懂，搞透笔记上不懂的地方。

5)      you should also be aware that you can always go back to the movie and see a first-hand experience on how the word or phrases were used in a situation helping you to understand how it all fits together.

需要注意的是，很多词句在不同地方的用法是不一样的。你完全可以随时返回电影看看片中的用法是哪类，再想想自己在生活中可以怎样去表达运用。永远记住，英语是学来用的。

6)      after you have a great grasp of everything that is going on within the film and believe you can take the challenge, you should watch the film with just the english subtitles only.  this will allow you to practice what you have learned so far without using the chinese characters as a cheat.

当你搞定所有之前不懂得地方后，挑战自己吧，关掉中文字幕，再来一遍！没有中文的帮助，才是检阅自己的最好方法，当然，这更是最好的听口练习，你完全还可以跟着说嘛。

7)      finally when you are sure that you can do it, you should watch the film one last time with no subtitles at all, and try to understand all that is happening while watching the film.  at this point not only should you be able to understand the film without the chinese subtitles but you should also be able to start seeing different ways to understand things as most people do when they watch movies over and over again.

呜呼(长呼一口气)，经过了之前的积累，相信你可以挑战最后一遍啦！关掉所有字幕，像看中文电影一样全英文的去欣赏影片。就像很多人老是喜欢重复看同一部电影一样，每一遍都有不同的感受，这一遍，不仅仅是英语，更在于领悟电影本身。不自觉的，你会惊喜的发现，你的英语已经和第一次看影片时不在一个层次，你在用英语领悟，不是吗？

      the key points in all these steps are to pay attention, and listen to everything very carefully.  grasp what is happening and understand how it affects everything and everyone involved in the situation.

as you continue to use this process watching different movies, you will grasp the process and understand how it works, and before you know it you will be learning english faster and faster with each film.  compared to a book or listening and understanding a story that has been told to you, a movie is always more fun.
