  when it comes to the thesis that whether traveling in one’s own country can help him more than having an aboard trip, many people agree with the former one, considering that knowing people from other provinces or states helps them a lot while collaborating with others. a wide range of people hold different notions. these people regard traveling aboard as a favorable chance to learn something unique, including the characteristics of foreigners, experiencing an exotic culture, and making friends with people in various countries, which widen their perspective. i agree with the latter one.

  firstly, one can learn a lot about foreign country’s unique spirit through a trip. for instance, i went to australia and new zealand for fun in 2002, which impressed me a lot. australia, compared with many developing countries in the world, is an advancing country with abundant natural resources. before i went there, i thought the australian’s shopping mall as a non-night wonderland. absolutely, i was wrong. the plaza in australia closes at four o’clock from monday to thursday, but five in friday, for every local habitant wants to have several more hours for personal affairs like keeping accompany with family members, going to the nightclub, having a date on time with his or her sweetheart and so on so forth. australians are really a group of people that know the true meaning of living. and at the same time, the trip to this striking country subverted the imagination i had on it.

  moreover, one can learn local people’s living style though a trip, which reminds him something that have been completely forgotten. as everyone knows, humanity consists of a variety of spiritual aspects. different nation emphasizes on different parts. for example, the japanese go towards royalty and beautiful death, the korean chase race dignity, the chinese pursue politeness and kindness. the new zealanders look seriousness and black and white as their motto. that is what i knew after having a trip to new zealand. as i imagined before, the new zealanders should act as australians because the two countries locate too close and their national flag are almost same. but i didn’t predict precisely. australian people chase their own lives, which represents their romance in daily life. however, the new zealanders utterly concentrate on work and arranged everything well, which is admired by the majority of the foreign visitors like me. they are completely serious while working in the office building or a factory. maybe visitors will see them as workaholics for their seriousness. that was what i learned through the trip to new zealand.

  in order to get to better know of motherland’s history and features, they would rather travel to another province or state. i have been to shanghai, suzhou, hangzhou and beijing for trips. the first three cities are in the southern china, while beijing locates in northern china. from my perspective, the diversity between china’s south and north is immense. for instance, northern people prefer to eating salty food like fried sauce noodle and beijing roast duck. however, people in south love four kinds of happiness or stripped shrimps, which is sweet and dilute. meanwhile, southern boys are quiet and gentle. but those of northern are living and warm-hearted and brave. hence, i have a complete understanding of the difference between south and north in china.

  as is discussed above, the advantages of traveling to another country carry more weight than those of having a trip to another province, i prefer to travel to a foreign country.
