为什么我们的英语学不好？我们投入的时间不可谓不多，买的书不可谓少，却往往是雄心开始，灰心结束，古语讲金诚石开，水滴石穿，学生们学英语都十多年了，为什么就打不开英语这个洋姑娘心房的门呢？

    为什么我们的英语学不好？我们投入的时间不可谓不多，买的书不可谓少，却往往是雄心开始，灰心结束，古语讲金诚石开，水滴石穿，学生们学英语都十多年了，为什么就打不开英语这个洋姑娘心房的门呢？因为他们没有抓住英语的心和灵魂！那么英语的心和灵魂在那里呢？
    我们认为，中国学生学的不是英语这门语言，而是英语这门文字。声音是一门语言的灵魂，文字不过是语言的标本。如果我们不掌握一门语言的语音语调，我们就无法用这门语言来表达自己的喜怒哀乐，我们就丢掉了这门语言最生命、最灵魂的东西，我们就无法和这门语言建立感情，也就无法对这门语言招之即来、挥之即去。比如，谈恋爱，女孩子常发嗲：你讨厌。如果没有语音语调，你能明白这三个字的万种风情吗？我们许多学生为什么英语学不好？
    因为他们每天输入的都是文字，而不是语言的灵魂：声音。他们背单词也是背单词的字母顺序，而不是记单词的声音。所以他们的阅读是最好的，听力和口语总是最差的。在他们的脑海里装满了重重的文字，没有声音，所以他们在听说时只有先调动文字，再把文字通过音标这门工具转变成声音，你想他们的英语能好吗？
