　　2. cut and thrust 唇枪舌剑，激烈争论
　　She enjoys the cut and thrust of party politics.
　　她喜欢党派政治中的唇枪舌剑。
　　3. born and bred 土生土长的
　　He's a Parisian born and bred.
　　他是土生土长的巴黎人。
　　4. wait and see 等等看；等着瞧
　　No decision will be made until next year, so you'll just have to wait and see.
　　得等到明年才会有决定，所以你只好等等看了。
　　5. wear and tear （一定时期内的）磨损，损耗
　　Seat covers on trains take a lot of wear and tear.
　　火车上的座套磨损比较严重。
　　6. meet-and-greet 见面会（知名人物与群众对话的活动）
　　The President took a short meet-and-greet walk to the restaurant.
　　总统到酒店出席了一个简短见面会。
　　7. bread and butter 谋生的职业；谋生之道
　　Gardening is my bread and butter at the moment.
　　眼下园艺工作是我的谋生之道。
　　8. bed and breakfast （私人住宅或小旅馆提供的）住宿和早餐
　　We're staying at a farm that does bed and breakfast.
　　我们住在一家提供住宿和早餐的农庄里。
　　9. surf and turf 海鲜牛排套餐
　　We spent three days together, eating surf and turf.
　　我们在一起待了三天，吃海鲜牛排大餐。
　　10. here and there 到处，在各处
　　There were a few books here and there, but apart from that the room was quite bare.
　　房间里散放着几本书，但除此之外几乎没有什么东西。
