寻正减肥夏令营了解到据芝加哥洛约拉大学等机构6日公布的这项研究成果，只靠锻炼之所以会很难达减肥效果，是由于身体在锻炼后损失大量热量，使得人们会容易吃更多的东西。与锻炼相比，科学进食的减肥效果更好。

为去了解哪种减肥方法的效果更好，科研人员对芝加哥城市妇女和尼日利亚农村妇女进行了比较。芝加哥的妇女平均体重约有83.5公斤，尼日利亚的妇女平均体重约有57.6公斤。

调查发现，尼日利亚的妇女之所以体重会较轻，主要原因并不是她们的活动比后者多，而是饮食的方式更加的健康。尼日利亚妇女主要进食富含纤维的粗粮，这些粗粮所含脂肪比芝加哥妇女主要进食的高热量加工食品低40%到45%。

参与这项研究的营养学家埃米·卢克指出：过去人们认为活动少是造成肥胖的主要原因，这种观点不完全正确。事实证明，饮食方式与肥胖的关系更为密切，如果不科学进食，减肥很难奏效。
