“实话实说”怎么说

大家都知道中央电视台有个很火的talk show 节目，叫"实话实说"，那有没有想过这四个字用英语要怎么表达呢？下面我们就来看一看。
a: i shouldn't have called you for advice. you're cruel, rude and ... aarrgh!
我真不该打电话问你的意见的。你不但残忍、无礼还……呃。
b: well, i always tell it like it is and, unfortunately, sometimes the truth hurts.
嗯。我一向实话实说的。只是，有时候，实话是伤人的。
tell it like it is 就是"实话实说"的意思。其实大家如果注意一下这个节目的话，就会发现这句英语了。
和"实话实说"、"坦白相告"相反的，自然是"避重就轻"、"回避话题"了，这个要怎么说呢，我们看下面的对话：
a: anna, please quit beating around the bush. there's somebody else, isn't there?
anna，请不要再回避话题了。(你心里)是不是还有别人？
b: i'm sorry, bruce. i didn't mean to mislead you.
bruce, 对不起。我并不是故意误导你的。
这里的beat around the bush 就是"避重就轻；回避某些话题，兜圈子"的意思了。 |
