poems from wu

　　singer kenji wu (wu kequn) from taiwan always surprises with his music. his new album came out in taiwan on march 14. it is called poems written for you (《为你写诗》). wu says he thinks writing a poem for a girl is a very romantic thing.

　　“i wrote poems in my high school, and even sold some to my classmates for pocket money,” he says. “but as we get older and busier, we no longer have the time.”

　　the inspiration (灵感) for his songs comes from life experience. he likes to try new things. when he was learning to play piano for the new album, he sat with a group of children. although they were just 5 and 6 years old, he was comfortable doing finger exercises with them. he even asked his classmates questions.

　　from time to time, wu takes a break from music. “every once in a while i take a vacation. you have to see, hear and taste new things,” he says. “work all the time and your inspiration dries up.”

　　wu acted in some of the mvs for the album, but he says he doesn’t plan to go into acting professionally (专业地). “but i do like to try new things. i open myself up to find the next direction my life will take.”
